Habitat For Humanity

DESCRIPTION:
The volunteer will perform tasks related to house construction. These assignments vary with current building schedule needs. Expertise is not necessary, but willingness to cooperate with construction manager and crew leaders is a must.  Should a volunteer possess superior construction skills, he/she may be approached for leadership roles at a later time.
Volunteer must sign a release and waiver of liability and have a current one on file with the Habitat for Humanity office.  This must be renewed annually.

HOURS:

  • Typically Saturdays: times vary depending upon season and schedule.
  • During Blitz weeks more hours are available during the week.
  • Daily-tasks and crews are often needed; contact the office for times.
  • No work on Sundays.

REQUIRED SKILLS: Willingness to accept instruction and work hard.

TRAINING: On site instruction. No one will be asked to do anything they are uncomfortable with. (Example: run a saw, climb high, etc.)

YOU CAN LEND A HELPING HAND IN ANY OF THE FOLLOWING WAYS:

  • Shoveling
  • Nailing
  • Sawing
  • Sweeping
  • Measuring
  • Cutting
  • Carrying heavy objects
  • Painting
