Dismas House

Dismas House is a home for people in transition from prison. Former prisoners live with Notre Dame/Saint Mary’s students. The purpose is to acclimate former prisoners to life outside prison by providing a home type atmosphere and support in employment in the community.The director invites anyone to share an evening meal with the residents.

HOURS:  1-2 hours a week. It does not have to be on a weekly schedule.

DAYS:  As scheduled with the director of Dismas House, usually on Wed. evening from 6:15 p.m. to ?

TRAINING: On the job.

YOU CAN LEND A HELPING HAND BY:

  • Donating funds to support maintenance of the household.
  • Prepare meals on site or at home, each person or family preparing one part of the meal
  • Donate items on wish list, i.e., household and hygiene items.
